we have one of these with baskets on each shelf. it looks a lot cleaner and gives you tones of space for all cosmetics, bottles, hairdryer etc...
one at the top as rolled towels coming out. looks great and saves space!

I have one of these units, and yes it set me back a couple of bucks, but it's only because of this unit that my bathroom isn't a total dive. Mine has two medicine cabinets and a shelf in between, and even though I have a vanity it keeps all my products out of sight and off the counter.

I don't know where the rest of you live- but 100$ for a very useful unit vs. a couple extra hundred EVERY MONTH for a bigger apartment? please- easy choice for me!

I live in an apt, I need storage (my bathroom is tiny and there's a sink and a toilet) and my walls are just tile, so I can't install shelving... there are definitely cheaper examples of this, but the point is "over toilet shelving creates bathroom space" not "over toilet shelving that costs over $100..."

Yeah, but try to find the item at Walmart.com using their search function... It's impossible. KMart's 'collection' will set you back at least $50.00+ for something ugly and cheap, and there's no Target in our area... But having once seen a metal trashcan with an $80 price tag, It's a sure bet that they do not have one for $20....

A Shelf Box holds a foot locker or a couple
of bankers' boxes. Can be stacked 6-7
high. No assembly. Small person can handle
an empty shelf box. Content re-inserted
when in the truck for moving. Optional
panel can conceal content or secure for moving.
Open in front. Closed on bottoom, top, ends,
and back. Stuff doesn't fall out. Make it
of wood and it will be handsome to put in
the apartment that is short on storage space.

Amen.

If I could afford stuff like this for my studio apartment, I'd probably spend the money on a one-bedroom instead, thus eliminating the need for this frou-frou thing altogether.

If you have a tiny apartment and not much money, there's plenty of used or free stuff around. Goodwill or any large thrift store have furniture, and trolling the dumpsters in student neighborhoods around the 1st of each month from May to Sept/Oct can yield all sorts of great finds. A good cleaning and a coat of paint can make anything look new. You might also want to try hotel furniture liquidators, garage sales, and websites like Craigslist.

Are you kidding me? $120 for a towel holder? Buy a couple of sticky hooks that will do the job, and just stack a couple of magazines (or fold a couple of towels neatly) over the toilet.

Chances are, if you can afford this shelving unit you A)Have enough space in your bathroom to store things elsewhere B) Already own a real, nicer unit.
