That means that my first month's rent will be extremely late. I let my landlord know my situation and, so far, all we've been doing is playing "phone tag" with each other. Now, I'm not sure if I'm going to get evicted even though I just moved into a place. I am broke and I really have nowhere else to go. Can anyone give me any suggestions? 		<description>am a Property Manager in Tennessee which is a Government assisted complexes. I can not believe some of these comments on here. Why do you people think that an Apartment Manager should allow you to live for free? Why do you think you are above the rules you agreed to? Let me assure you if you lived at any of my complexes in Tennessee you would not be given the opportunity to make payments on back rent, we have all played that game with tenants and the complex is the one who ends up losing money.  Apartment complexes have bills also and when we have tenants who pay their electric bill or their car payments instead of their rent then my suggestion is I hope they feel their car is large enough for them to live in because that is where they will be!!  I have salaries to pay because you want your AC and your toilet fixed. My maintenance does not work for nothing. I have security lighting to pay and phone bills and insurance and mortgage. I pay more in City and County Taxes every year than most of you make. Where do you think the operating cost of an apartment complex comes from, Heaven?
If tenants do not pay their rent then I can not operate...period!!! Why should a paying tenant suffer because you will not pay your rent?? How dare you think that you do not have to pay your rent because you are having a hard time! How dare you blame you problems on your landlord. The landlord gave you a place to stay, a roof over your head they held up their end of the agreement: If you can not hold up your end of the agreement have some dignity and move before you become late. If you have people living in your apartment that is not authorized to be there you are in lease violation period...you know this. An apartment manager takes people to court to get a judgement for past due rents do you honestly believe that money is ever fully recovered?? Do you think an apartment manager wants to spend his/her days sitting in a court room, knowing the odds of getting any actual money is slim to nothing. I know for a fact in Tennessee I don't care if you are a single mother with 20 kids on a month to month rental you have 30 days after the rent is past due to be out and if it is week to week rental you have 7 days after the rent is past due. You do not get special treatment because you are old, a single mother, unemployed or lived there 100 years. Your Landlord did not take you to raise. They owe you nothing in fact you owe them they are providing you a service.</description>

		<description>Yes...I have a situation also with my landlord. I'm 22years old and have been living at the same apartment for 4+ years now. Three out of the Four years we had recieved a new landlord and is still till now here. I haven't really had any problems from here from before really...maybe just a few times she didn't turn in a maintainence report or so. But also, she has signed my name to a criminal background check regarding to my personal information to my now husband, previously was my employer, for him to sign and give back and for her to send off. Not only that, but since the summer of 08' my landlord and I have been bickering and arguing ever since then. I was pregnant in the summer of 08' and the parking area we have here is numbered for each tenant here at the apartments and thats it, visitor parking is up front. Anyhow...landlord told me that there wouldn't be any problems with me painting the number back on mine so I wouldn't have to walk so far up from the parking lot and up my stairs with my things (groceries,bags, etc...) so I did just that. Well, ppl. still parking EVERYWHERE and anybody. And then on after it has been a constant battle for my 5mth old girl, husband, and myself to stay here as long as possible so we can find somewhere else to go. I don't know who could live here with the landlord here in the first place!! Anyhow, I have recieved an eviction notice (notice to quit) on 3/30/09 of 30days to vaccate. Supposable reason was the landlord said that his income was unverifiable, that compliance couldn't verify his 2008 income taxes?? I don't get it tho, if IRS can verify why couldn't her and the ppl. higher above her?? So now, I'm steaming mad bcause nobody can explain to me as of why the blazzin saddles why the income is not verifiable. I don't get it!! Tuesday 4/14/09 my husband and I went to the landlords office and asking her questions as if there was anything else we could do to not b evicted and for her to explain...she called one of her boss's and talked for the first little bit, the walked outside talking to him over the phone, came back and handed the phone to me, and then I handed it off to my husband so I could ask her quests. She ended up making me made, and accidentally I cursed her and she told me she didn't have to hear that in her office and for me to leave NOW. Two days later recieved a loud knocking at my door, it was the Sheriff serving me an evictions paper and I asked him about if I had a baby and was trying to find somewhere to go ASAP could I still b kickd out? He said that he didn't know and that he didn't even read the paper, he reads it and says, "Well, looks like you have a month". On the served paper it says I am to vacate the premises, "But I refused to do so"! HOW CAN I REFUSE TO DO SO, IF THE EVICTION NOTICE THAT MY LANDLORD GAVE ME SAYS TO VACATE ON 4/23/09?? So as of May, 14 of 2009 I have to b out of my apartment, AND also go to court bcause of the landlord. 

PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS!!
I have called till my face is blue and  hand wrote a 4 page letter to the best of my ability!
I don't know who else to talk to or what to do, without me having to get a lawyer...whiches now I can't afford one and don't know anything about anything.

		<description>One way to do it without having to borrow from family or friends, is to pay your rent using a credit card.  The way to do this is to request a convenience check(s) from your credit card company.  Then simply right a check to your landlord for the entire amount owed.
For example, $650, this will buy you another 30 days to get back on your feet and all you will have to do when the credit card bill arrives is pay about a $30 monthly bill, until its paid off.
Its not the best option since you will have to pay some interest.  But, it will buy you some time and its sure alot better then having your credit rating ruined and getting evicted.
For those who have never been evicted (myself included,thank God) the sheriff and his deputies take all your stuff out of the unit and put it on the side of the road at which time it is free for the taking by anybody, it is not considered stealing since the stuff has been thrown out.  
I've seen it happen and it ain't pretty.  The experienced vultures will come and take your stuff.
A better solution of course is to avoid this problem altogether forever, by building up a savings account so the next time you lose your job, no problem, your savings will cover you, buying you that all important asset --TIME - to get reestablished.

		<description>I had a boyfriend who never changed his address with the postal but he susposably has to be evicted out. He is not on my lease.
We got into a fight he even swung me around like a rag doll because he was drunk and has a anger mgmt problem and has done this to another gal I just found out.
Is it true that he has a right to stay here?
How much does it cost to evict him?
How long is the process? he is out of State and not due back for a week.
He already owes me alot of money already.</description>

		<description>How do you get adult child to leave?  Mine won't.  Age 19--age of majority in my state.  Doesn't work...can't keep a job either.  Won't go to school (hasn't complete high school), sleeps all day. Damages my house--broke window, punched hole in wall, ripped door with frame totally off wall, blew the motor in car, Racked up 10 traffic tickets in less than 2 years--six of those within the last 10 months or so--I pay the auto insurance and the tickets too, steals money from me...it goes on and on and on.  I phoned the police after the door situation and they said (to me) too bad he lives here.</description>

I got laid off from work and missed one payment and got an eviction notice giving me 10 days to move.  Not even got a notice to pay or get out.  Just a straigh out eviction. The reason I am in arrears is because I have been unemployed since April.  I have work 2 temporary assignments during my quest for a full time job.  I was blessed with one On October 13, and I received the eviction papers October 20.

I get paid on the 15th &#038; 30th of every month.  TODAY is November 4 so my rent is due AGAIN.  What can I do in order to get the Landlord or Courts to extend the time...... or to get the money so i can stay on the premises?

Caused a big scene &#038; we called the cops and the guy ended up getting arrested. Well he lived in the apartment complex also. A couple days later we find out both us and the guy who broke into the truck are getting evicted for fighting on the apartment grounds. So now its on both of our rental history &#038; are credit isnt that great either. We have a baby girl on the way, due next month and are wanted to get out own place again, but find it really hard b/c of that stupid eviction. Anyone have any ideas of what to do?????</description>

I was served with an eviction notice today and I was given ten days to move out even after making a verbal agreement with my landlord.  We agreed I was to stay to the end of November.  She was oday with that two days ago, but she served me with an eviction notice anyway.  Is there any way I can get mor than ten days?  I have a wife and two toddlers.  I am also funding a nasty custody battle in order to get my other two kids back.</description>
