His 2 boys an a girlfriend live there sence the boys have moved here it is a living hell. The one boy has a loud car and loud stereo comes home for lunch at 2:50 am wakes me up 5 nights a week . I've told the land lord many times about this and nothing ever happens now they are banging on the celing when he is not home and harassing use. I was told by the boys and there father ie. the land lord to close all the windows and sleep with ear plugs well it is summer it gets 110 here it is hot. Fortunately, he's been quiet most of the time now. But now I am encountering another problem which is a strong cat urine STENCH seeping into my apartment. It's been going on 2 weeks now and I've called the super who just has the hallways moped (which doesn't take care of the problem!). We aren't clear on where the source of the smell is.... but I'm assuming it's a newcomer cat that's inside one of my neighbor's apartments. City apartment living isn't easy... I had a very noisy neighbor just below me who would drink and play his music loudly from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. I complained to him and the super and the landlord on numerous occasions. And yeah to all the parents who make excuses shame on YOU, I was a toddler, and my mom would not allow me to be so loud that I disturbed other people. 10am is early for adults that work at nigh, and it's the right of the tenant to not have to worry about loud kids!!!!! I would really just like to be able to educate some of my neighbors in what it means to be thoughtfull, courteous, and considerate and to what levels those are expected to be at for alls enjoyment when living in an apartment setting. One line included something about the kitchen cabinets can be loud slams if you let them get away from you; kinda welcome; here's the perks and here's the drawbacks; and here's what to watch out for; and here's some solutions. Don't you know that She, the Husb. and all kids just let the cabinet doors go, I counted one evening almost 50 in,... not a typo... 10 minutes! I quit counting. All the doors have the 'L' handles on them. Does it ever dawn on anyone to turn it rather than just pull or push the door closed? None of her family that's for sure, especially the kids. Landloard: report to her only after she asks how the new neighbor's doing, and she tells them that I complained; when their up stairs complained; she revealed that too! For instance, today it smells like a dirty litter box because she lets her animals go to the bathroom in the basement ( all 5 dogs and 2 cats). I live in a house-made-apt, and it wasnt done very well. we share the same ventilation system and she has all control over the thermostat, so when her animals use the basement as a bathroom it comes up through the vents and right into my apartment. Our main vent just happens to be in my master bedroom closet, so therefore my clothes smell like crap- literally. My landlord is very aware of these problems and refuses to do anything about it. I have given the landlord an ultimatum- either me or her. I have lived here for 2 years, i pay my rent on time, and have never had any complaints from any other tenants, so I dont feel like i should not have to be the one to leave and money doesn't grow on trees so I can't afford to up and move... They immediately contacted me after I spoke to the POC (Point of Contact), I filled out the form, and spoke to the same woman that coordinates the mediation. Within seven (yes, 7) days we had a letter from the San Antonio Dispute Department with a copy given to my next door neighbor who called and agreed for mediation (thank God!). We met just last night (4 Feb 09) at 6:30 pm; knowing what time he gets home from work (mind you, he's a US Postal Service employee; they have a "bad" rep). We spoke at the round table (I did as my husband and I initiated the mediation). We spoke for two (yes 2) hours. We talked about my items on our "list" and since he didn't have a list I let him hear us out. My husband also spoke and I Chris (neighbor) to remove his mirror that was pointing to my property, have he and his wife stop using "foul" language, stop discussing any personal topics w/neighbors esp when my husband is outside watering the lawn (I told Chris since my husband is hearing impaired this was considered "rude"), Chris admitted (I swear to God) that he himself was an "azzhole, jerk" and I caught him in a lie when he reported me to the HOA (Home Owners Association) and he said, "Ms. Munoz ratted me out". Yes, Chris, she did. When you go to mediation find out what the "rules" are. We all signed the agreement document and each received a copy. I told Chris that I didn't trust him and wanted him to remove the mirror before we all got back home, if not, I'd contact HOA since it is not on our bi-laws because it faces my property and considered a privacy act law (remember residents, we have rights!). I got a dozen roses for my birthday. I'm the type that keeps them alive for a long time. then I put them on my patio and in the morning one of the roses is on my neigbors patio. I don't know these people. they also come on my patio (at night when I sleep) and by the way I close the gate on my patio, they use my broom and do whatever they want. then when the weather is nice I like to open my windows and can hear them calling me nasty names. I have talked to management and they have talked to them, then when I complained again, they told me to call the police. it's a small one bedroom apartment with a bunch of people living there. I guess justice was served, she had NO COMPANY and went NO WHERE all through the Christmas and New Year holiday period. I think everyone is onto what a pathetic psychotic loser she is. Has anyone else ever experienced this? She is home all the time. I don't know how she earns money to pay the rent. Since she has moved in, I've noticed that she always seems to be doing the same thing I am - vacuuming, laundry, running the dishwasher. When I have my TV on, I can hear her's. When I turn the stereo on, I can hear her's. When I go out on my patio, she comes out onto her balcony. She never speaks or makes eye contact though, so I don't think she's trying to make friends. I didn't really think too much about it at first, until she started going into the bathroom when I do. I can hear her walking above me. If I flush the toilet, she will flush her's. She also LOVES to flush her toilet when I'm in the shower. I can hear her walk in and immediately flush, so I know she's not using the facilities first. She stomps around so hard, it sounds like she's about to crash through my ceiling. Every so often, there will be a loud crash, like she's dropped a heavy weight. I can actually hear wood cracking when this happens. I work 2 jobs, so I'm hardly ever home, but as soon as I come through the door, the stomping starts. When she hears me open my bedroom closet door, she comes stomping into her bedroom above me. What's her problem??? I've never met her, she can't be mad at me. Well one night I was on the computer and was listening to Christmas music (regular computer speakers) at only 8PM and our neighbor comes banging on the door asking me to turn my bass down. I was a little confused but told her that I was sorry, that I didn't realize that I had the music up that loud and would turn it down. We were both civil, there was no attitudes and I indeed did turn my music completely off (no reason to listen to it if I can't hear it cause it wasn't that loud in the first place). Well apparently she filed a complaint to our apartment office saying we listened to loud music and bass in the early hours of the morning disturbing their sleep! I was outraged when I got the letter in the mail. I went to the office and talked to one of the workers, told him "I'm 37 weeks pregnant, do I look like the type to listen to loud music during early hours of the morning???". He said that he wasn't the person to talk to about this issue and made a copy of the letter and would have the manager call me. So far no call from the office. What should I do? I feel so paranoid now, like everything is too loud and I don't want to get evicted, but I don't want to be uncomfortable in my own home. I mean, what are they going to do when I give birth to my little girl and bring her home from the hospital and she cries for those first few days? Call and complain that my daughter is too loud? This woman would complain about noise at 10 in the morning! My daughter just being a happy child.....dancing, singing, etc. Nothing outrageous. To make it worst we were gone most weekends visiting family so there was zero noise at these times .Any noise (walking, talking) she heard from my condo she complained. Then she came and screamed at my 5 year old with me standing right there. This went over like a lead balloon with me. Then Banging on the ceiling with a broom. i Then get this....the evil woman would play LOUD music from 5am till 12 midnight in the room under my daughter room. What kind of mean person would do this to a child? Also it backfired on her because what do you think a five year old (who normally goes to bed at 8pm ) does when she hears music...right, she dances. She went telling everyone that my child's noise was giving her headaches but interesting the LOUD music didn't i.e shes a control freak who is miserable and therefore wants everyone miserable. I talked to the condo assc. president made a formal complaint that she was harassing my minor child (authorities look down on this...lawsuit waiting to happen and they know it) and effecting her rest for school. She stopped with the daily LOUD music for a couple of days. Banging on the ceiling Loud Music etc. So I try to take the nice route and think O.k. I will try kindness maybe this will work so My daughter and myself take her a gift basket (A nice one at that) trying to make peace. This worked for maybe a week. But mean, control freaks like her take kindness as weakness ( her Last mistake with me) She starts again...this time LOUDER music under my child's room ALL NIGHT AND ALL DAY. Then louder banging with the broom for the slightest noise. So now the gloves are off Now you are being cruel to my child and as a mother I will not tolerate this. I have tried every avenue I could think of (this went on for months and months). So last night at 1am my child can't sleep especially in her room. I Call the Police. They come to my condo and see the witch is only doing this under my child's room which by the way no one is in this room in her condo its a guestroom. INTERESTING! that's coming from a female who harassed a elderly man so much and his family until they moved. (he was also being persued by my riteous, noisy, violent, arrogant neighbor below me who caused so much trouble it attracted the attention of my lawyer, who dropped by occasionally.) anyways, once they chased out my friend and elderly neighbor (after 3 solid years of harassment) the downstairs neighbor, below me... figured he was going to work on me next. that was nipped in the bud as soon as it was started. i warned him if he ever knocked on my door again i'll call the police, make a record of accounts on harassment, to say the least and call my lawyer and his renters rights friend, who worked in the same building as he. this man and his wife were noisy, careless (cigarettes all over hell's creation, most of them still LIT!) i had to put out their fires, clean up their trash, among other folks doing the same... it was baby sitting for the most of us. the only one who defended this degenerate was the very female who got help alongside to get rid of their elderly neighbor. now she (who was going to move... but changed her mind, DAMMIT!) is defending her acts of harassment, defending the abusers who once resided below me and has a visitor come by (a man in his 60s) who spits all over the sidewalk and tosses his trash on the lawn. he even parks in handicapped spots for where he has no identification anyplace on his vehicle that he has any permissions to park in these spots. but no no no she'll whine about everyone else doing the same thing. the two dingbats below me now live in an adjacent building and they're still the same monsters as always. minifires, trash, loud music, yelling, screaming.
