Not all apartment locators force you to be driven around to properties either. In some states, apartment locators can talk w/ you over the phone and just send you listings via email. You can also make appointments to go into their office and review floorplans and photos. Usually they've already seen the properties several times so you have someone who isn't bias and can tell you whether it would work for you or not. You don't need to take off a whole day of work or waste an entire Saturday being driven around by someone. Just take your options and go-but make sure you let them know when you rent. Most leasing agents tell you that they will inform the locator and never get around to it.
