The quintessential environmentally friendly cleaning items that are a must for apt. living (or just about any home living) are: baking soda, white vinegar, and borax. You can add extras such as lemon, salt, olive oil, etc. However, the big three that I just mentioned are a must. They're cheap, easy to find, and capable of cleaning and/or freshening just about anything imaginable. My personal cleaning favorite? Combining borax, baking soda, and salt together in a little shaker, and using it as a homemade scouring powder in various areas of my bathroom. It's just as good as Ajax, Soft Scrub, and all the other cleaning products out there. Most importantly, it's WAY cheaper!
