Whatta LewLew - Bookcases! Don't forget bookcases! I hunt (and haunt) yard sales and thrift stores for bookcases. A coat of fresh paint can really make an old bookcase look brand new and the finished product can double as side tables in the living room or bed room or kitchen! Place ceramic tiles on top of a book case to protect the top and you can remove hot pans to it, too! I use decorative tiles (12 X 12 or 18 X 18) in the kitchen to protect my Formica counter tops, too! Bookcases may also be placed on their sides to make interesting storage units with a shorter profile!
