Anyone know of any legal actions I can take? I've lived in my apartment complex for about 8 months now in a 1 bedroom. We wanted some more space so about a week ago we moved into a 3 bedroom in the same complex, just a different building. The landlord had originally told me the previous tenants were slobs and there was alot of cleaning to be done before I could move in. He never mentioned cockroches! So we got into the new apartment, it looked clean..but within the first night cockroches were everywhere! To add to that, fleas! It's grossing me out, I told him right away what we had discovered. They "bombed" the place...which was alot of hassel (and I just started back at school this same week..I don't have the time or energy for this extra stress!) that sure didn't kill them and he hasn't gotten back to me about it.
Anyone know what I should do? Can I by law make them replace the carpet? I've heard it's near impossible to get the bugs out once they've nested in it.
