We live in military housing

We live in military housing in the swamps of North Carolina and let me tell you, the roaches are beyond horrible. Imagine your entire house being a hive. No lie. When they moved my new fridge in (because the old one got fried because of..you guessed it! ROACHES) the guy pushing it in on a dolly misjudged how hard to push and the fridge put a hole in the wall. He screamed like a little girl when dozens and dozens of the little bastards came POURING out of the hole. He looked at me like he was going to cry and said "You have roaches!!" ..well no shit Sherlock! Nothing is safe in our quarters unless it is sealed in a bag. We keep our clothes in those giant ziplock bags, all of our food that doesnt need to be refrigerated is in baggies, our silverware too. We also keep our plates and glasses in them along with our cookware. (the giant sized)
Luckily they're tearing this place down. They tore down the one across the street from me and I watched from my kitchen window. You could see them running all around. No lie. Moving out into a new place is going to take me 3 times as long because I'm going to have to be so careful to check each and every item for bugs. We wont be using cardboard boxes because the military provides them and they always always ALWAYS have roaches in the cardboard itself.
I'm so tempted to just leave our furniture and start over. I can't imagine a way to make SURE we don't bring them with us when we move.
