Is it a requirement in Oklahoma that a landlord must repaint a dwelling unit, house or apartment, between renters? My sister was an apartment manager and although she does not know where this came from, she was told in her training that it is a health law.
I am in a position that my landlord has told me that he uses the deposits to repaint his rental units and provide window AC units as well as ongoing repairs.
I do know that deposits are, by law in Oklahoma, not to be used for these purposes but instead are to be kept in an escrow account, something he did not do, but he is now suing me for "unknown" damages and I would like to know what, if any, source I could cite in court to refute his right to charge me for repainting.
