Is it legal, in Oregon, for a dwelling sharing an electric meter with another dwelling when the landlord requires the tenants to split the electricity costs between them? The landlady didn't tell me about this before she had me put the electricity in my name.
She did write in the rental agreement that she would cover any disputes over the electricity, but didn't disclose the situation until after we had put down our non-refundable security deposit of $750. The dwellings are of differing sizes, and ours has a wood stove, for which we purchase wood ourselves.
