I love that idea and I have always wanted to try it myself. I would just make sure it is the right size not to small that would not look good. I have seen it done on Debbie Travis's show on HGTV and it looked really good. If you do give it a shot I would love to see it, I think it is a unique,cheap and fun alternative then the normal wood headboard.
