I have lived an an apartment for over 15 years - the landlord begged me to apply to section 8 - because they are having trouble renting out units under the program - I said I would IF I could stay in the same unit (which I have kept very clean and taken care of) - now they are trying to force me to move to a torn down broken up unit - that no one will rent in order to receive the section 8 - I won't move into the torn up unit and have to make repairs and clean it and buy new appliances and such - not to mention paying new utility deposits - getting new checks and the huge hassle of moving - just because they have a filthy apartment no one else will rent. So I plan to just say no - interesting that other people are not being asked to move in order to get the section 8. In fact this has made me so angry - I am thinking about moving completely from the apartments to a different one. I don't like being treated like this - no wonder thay cannot rent out apartments. Plus they must think I am extremely dumb to not see the scam they are trying on me.
