If you are a lover of fermented beverages living in a rented space or your own apartment or condo, you may be looking at good solutions for wine racks to fit a smaller or unusually shaped space. When it comes to making custom wine racks for your dwelling, there are a lot of interesting ideas to choose from. You may not have room for the kinds of impressive floor-standing wooden racks that you would see in the wine basement of a vineyard, but there are a lot of designs that don’t take up a lot of space and can end up looking just as impressive.

Here are some novel designs for keeping your bottles in good condition without taking up a large amount of room in your apartment.

1. Hanging Metal Racks

Metal racks that hang from a ceiling or other higher point can be good space savers. They can also be great decorative pieces. Good welded metal racks can provide optimal bottle positioning and good stability for your collection of wine.

2. Wicker Racks

To complement a lot of apartment styles for less money, there’s nothing like a nice wicker wine rack. These light and portable installations can also provide a good home for your wine bottles in a corner or nook space.

3. Wooden Lattice Racks

When you’re looking for wooden racks that will fit your apartment, you will probably be looking for taller, thinner models. Some extremely thin lattice racks can be put together to reach all the way up to the ceiling, where your older vintages can be stored out of harm’s way.

4. Wall Sconce Racks

Some apartment have convex areas to fit a small wine rack, and others do not. If your apartment comes outfitted with these kinds of nooks and crannies, you may be able to fit a customized wine rack into one of these spaces to provide a safe place for your bottles.

5. Closet Racks

Another way to help your wine collection take up less room is to fit your wine rack into the interior of a closet. One potential design is a diagonal rack with a hook that hangs over the interior closet door. With this design, you simply open the closet and display your entire wine collection in proper form for keeping corks wet and avoiding the kinds of damage that result when wine bottles are kept standing up for too long.

These are just some of the many imaginative and useful designs that apartment dwellers can incorporate into their living space to accommodate a good wine collection. A collection of bottles can really add some class to an apartment or condo space, and having your bottles at your fingertips will make it easier when it’s time to crack one open. Consider these kinds of designs for space saving wine racks you’ll love.
